Rat race

For a change, I'll write today's entry in English. Now government requires private companies to improve working opportunities for female employees. And government goal of the policy is by 2020 it accounts for third part of important positions in each company by women. But it is difficult for some company. Japanese company culture is so to speak “rat race”. It means they need to continue to work for a long time and make good outputs. But for women, they need to take, for example, maternity leave and stop to work. Many executive in each company think it is better for executive to have wide range of experience in company to manage the companies. So to take long days off will be disadvantage of women.
To conclusion, without the change of cultures in each company, Abe’s aim for Women will not be successful
